UST Neocentennial in Polaroid

Polaroid shots of UST

Shots using Fujifilm Instax Mini 50s

Last Wednesday, I was dragged to UST by one of my high school best friend (she’s the one on the top left photo) for their Neocentennial celebration. I didn’t quite get the purpose of the celebration but it was quite fun looking at the whole UST campus.

It felt like being in Spain, or more precisely, it felt like we traveled back in time to the period when the Philippines was still under the Spanish rule.

I didn’t know it would be a lively celebration so I didn’t bring my DSLR with me. Imagine the frustration I felt when I saw photographers with telephoto lenses all around the campus!

Luckily, I had in my bag the small and lightweight Fujifilm Instax Mini 50S I bought just recently. I only used a few shots because I was on my last pack of film (10 shots only!).

Overall, it was a fun experience getting to see people all dressed up and parading around the university grounds. It really did feel like going back in time. Add to that the fact that the University of Santo Tomas still has that main building which looked like it was from the 1600′s.

Ever felt like you traveled back in time?
